We're excited to announce a new, one-of-a-kind concert experience right here at the Weill Center in Sheboygan.

Imagine you arrive for a concert and are immediately escorted back stage. You pass the green room and then step onto the stage. You're on the hallowed ground that's usually reserved for the band.

There is a bar with specialty cocktails lined up and an appetizer menu that seems to fit with the genre of music that you hear. You find your way to a high-top table, just feet away from the music. The band seem to be playing a private concert just for you, with their backs to the auditorium.

As you listen, you look out at the backdrop of empty auditorium seats and starry night sky ceiling. The singer takes a break to share more about his inspiration for the next song, followed by laughter and applause.

This is exactly what guests can expect at Backstage Pass, a new live music series at the Weill Center.

Backstage Pass Series

The Backstage Pass series launched in fall of 2018 to provide a new type of VIP experience, inviting guests to join artists on the stage for intimate performances. One Thursday a month, this series features up-and-coming artists who play on the Weill Center stage.

The band plays with their backs to the auditorium, facing the crowd that is on the stage with them. This gives guests the opportunity experience what it’s like from the entertainer’s point of view. All guests receive a VIP pass to be backstage with the band, complete with cash bar access, appetizers for purchase, seating and room to dance!

On Thursday, Jan. 10, the Backstage Pass series will resume with a performance by Feed the Dog, a Wisconsin “jam-rock-grass band.” The band is known for its eclectic and high-energy performances, complete with fiddle and 12-string guitar.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. at the Weill Center, 826 N 8th St. in Sheboygan. Cover charge is $5 at the door. Space is limited to 140 people and guests must be 21 or older.

The Backstage Pass series is another great example of the vibrant live music scene we have in Sheboygan. We hope to continue to build on this excitement and provide even more of a variety of experiences at the Weill for our community and our visitors.
