Phantasy Star 0,[a] also known in Australia and Europe as Phantasy Star: ZERO and sometimes in North America as Phantasy Star Ø, is a Nintendo DS game in the Phantasy Star series, developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. The game was released in Japan on December 25, 2008 and in North America on November 10, 2009, and has been released in Europe on February 12, 2010. Though the official US release date was the 10th, the game was not available in stores until November 11, 2009.[2] The official website incorrectly lists the release date as November 12, 2009, because SEGA could not guarantee the game would be available nationwide the day before. The game expands on the gameplay mechanics of Phantasy Star Online, partly by borrowing some elements from fellow online Phantasy Star title Phantasy Star Universe, such as a fully realized story mode for offline play.

Character generation and archetypes[edit]

Phantasy Star Zero continues the character creation mechanics from Phantasy Star Online. The player first chooses a race, each with their own strengths: versatile Humans; powerful, hulking androids called CASTs; or nimble but fragile genetically engineered Newmans. The choice affects the character's perspective on the story and what order in which the first three zones are tackled, but ultimately all three end identically. The player then chooses the character's gender and archetype. Males tend to favor physical strength and durability; females tend to favor accuracy, evasion and techniques, Phantasy Star's equivalent to magic.

Hunters[edit]

Hunters use short ranged weapons like swords daggers and spears. Human and Newman hunters may also wield empowering techniques.

Luftrausers flash. Take to the skies in a fighter planes as you take down battleships, submarines, and rival aces. Simple, yet addicting game-play. Sore through the sky and stay alive as long as you can to become the legendary pilot. This is the original flash based game that came first, like most retro games the idea is simple and the action is fluid. Time Pilot/Wings of Fury meets Thrust sort of gameplay feeling. LUFTRAUSER is a sepia-monochrome dogfight game in which players try to hold out as long as possible against endless airplanes and ships, complemented by a kick-ass soundtrack. LUFTRAUSER was created by Not Vlambeer (Jan Willem Nijman & Rami Ismail), Paul 'Pietepiet' Veer and Kozilek. Luftrauser Luftrauser is a simplistic, but addictive dogfighting arcade game. Climb into the cockpit of a fighter jet and engage your enemies in aerial combat. Destroy your enemies and score points as you try to survive for as long as possible. Play Luftrauser a free Classic at OneMoreLevel.com. Thousands of free addictive Flash games like Luftrauser and many more. Updated daily.

Rangers[edit]

Rangers are primarily ranged attackers. They are most effective fighting at long range with various guns and heavy artillery, but can also make use of gunblades. Human rangers can also use de-powering techniques on targets. Newmans cannot become rangers.

Forces[edit]

Forces excel at using techniques. Techniques are used to buff and heal teammates and debuff and damage enemies. Though all Humans and Newmans can use some techniques, only forces can use the light-based Grants and dark-based Megid and only forces can learn the higher-tier ranks of all techniques. Forces favor technique weapons such as staffs and wands. This archetype is unavailable to CASTs.

NPCs[edit]

There are also four non playable characters who can accompany the player during story mode:

Sarisa: a cheerful and sunny newman youth who came down from the moon. She is an avid book reader with a love of adventure stories, and is a skill-type character due to her weak defenses and strong healing techniques.

Ogi: One of the best hunters in Dairon City's Hunter's Guild, who is deeply interested in the past due to his amnesia, shared by many CASTs. He is a balanced character, but is unable to use techniques.

Kai: A top hunter in Dairon City's Hunter's Guild. He generally acts in a carefree manner, but he has faced great tragedy in the past, and is something of a father figure for the player character and Sarisa. He is a power-type character.

Reve: An elite newman in Mother Trinity's police force. He joins the player after having his faith shaken. He has great skill with lightning techniques and is a speed-type character.

Gameplay[edit]

Online and offline modes[edit]

Similar to Phantasy Star Online, players can shop, bank, accept quests, and access combat areas from a city-like hub. In the offline Story Mode, the player gains AI allies and progresses a narrative, which includes multiple cut scenes and dialogue sequences. Once completed, the player can access higher difficulty levels to earn increasingly powerful gear and further grow their characters. The game also contains three online modes: Free Play, in which the player is randomly paired up with a party of one to three users; Play With Friends, where the player can invite friends into a private room (and vice versa); and Play Alone, where the player can play online by oneself to complete online-only missions and be notified of friends' connection status.

Communication[edit]

Featured in the game is 'Visual Chat', a take on PictoChat where players communicate by drawing and writing on the DS touch screen. According to the February 2009 issue of Nintendo Power (Vol. 238, page 38), 'Up to 20 messages may be saved to shortcuts so they're accessible at any time via a quick tap of the touch screen'.[3] Players can also write freely to each other throughout a game session without the use of pre-composed messages. However, communication among unfamiliar users is limited to preset chat. Even considering its limitations, the preset phrases offer an unprecedented amount of communication between anonymous users from anywhere in the world over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players will receive the preset phrase in their own languages as well as the speakers'.

Gear and character optimization[edit]

The game contains over 350 weapons,[4] debuting two new weapon classes, shields and gunblades. Shields are blunt weapons that can be used to block enemy attacks, and gunblades are one-handed swords that also carry a gun barrel, allowing for long range and short range interchangeability by holding the Left Trigger button.[1] Most equipment can be upgraded through various means. Items called grinders can further improve a weapon or armor's effectiveness. In addition, weapons can be upgraded with elements, allowing them special on-hit effects or additional damage, and 'Photon Fortification,' which increases a weapon's effectiveness against a hostile classification of the player's choosing. Characters can be further specialized by using materials, items that permanently increase a base stat.

Development[edit]

The decision to develop Phantasy Star 0 for the Nintendo DS was made to expand the appeal of the series to younger gamers. The word Zero was affixed to the title to represent 'a new start for the series' and separate itself from the main series games in favor of the Nintendo GameCube games.[5] Artist Toshiyuki Kubooka, made famous by his work on the Lunar series and Giant Robo anime, designed the game's characters with an 'uplifting' aesthetic.[3] The game was exhibited at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2008 as part of Sega's lineup of new DS games.[6]

DSiWare version[edit]

A smaller version of the game, Phantasy Star 0 Mini, was released for the Nintendo DSiWare service on March 25, 2009. Sega also mentioned the possibility of a new Nintendo DSi-exclusive downloadable stage for the game, possibly one from the original Phantasy Star Online. A poll for players to pick their favorite classic stage would be held on Sega of Japan's website at a later date.[7]

The game received 'average' reviews according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[8]

Everspace vr ps4. EVERSPACE™ is an action-focused single-player space shooter, combining roguelike elements with top-notch visuals and a captivating story. I was able to get it to go into VR mode by holding the O button for a couple seconds, the game became unplayable and I died, the vision was not lined up so I could not see anything in front of me. Could not switch it off either.

Famitsu gave it a score of two eights, one nine, and one eight for a total of 33 out of 40; the authors praised the game's controls, game play, and online mode, noting, 'it really feels like an online game in the palm of your hand.' The publication criticized the game's 'softness of the sound.'[9]Nintendo Power gave good remarks towards the game, but heavily criticized the menu setup and the loss to change weapons during gameplay.[15]Phantasy Star 0 sold approximately 84,055 copies during its debut week in Japan.[19]

Okay, so players found monsters with a 'White Shadow.' They are wondering what it means, and I think you should know this as well. Have you noticed your NPC Partners said, 'Is this Mutation?' Sarisa, 'This is gonna get ugly.' Kai, 'More Mutants.' Reve, 'What is this? Ogi.So you probably wonder what's so great about White Shadowed Beasts.

Well, here's a good thing and bad thing about them:Good ThingsYou gain higher EXP than regular ones giveThe Drop Item is Boosted (So if you're looking for a certain rare, now's your chance!)If it's on (Weak) Rare Hostiles, you'll get something good for it (Super Difficulty to be exact)Bad ThingsThe Hostile has a Higher HP than regular ones doThe Hostile is a bit stronger than regular onesIf it's on (Strong) Rare Hostiles, you'd be screwed already (if you're on Super Difficulty)White Shadowed Beasts do not make Rare Hostiles appear after beating or meeting one. And you should notice the white glow under the Hostile. Lets say a Rare Zaphobos has a White Shadow and on Super Difficulty, you'd want the bloody red sword it drops. Once you kill it, there's a good chance you may get it-sometimes you may not. It's just luck (which no one believes.)Now that you understand these so called 'Mutations' you better keep your eye out for them. Your NPC partners will let you know when they see one. Good luck.:D.

So many players found themselves an unexpected place like the bakery or the legendary pizza shop. They would even say where did they find such place? For the Cake Shop is found at Ozette Wetlands and Gurhacia Valley. As for the Pizza Shop. I last found it in the Arca Plant while I was wandering around the place. And then I ran into the shop. The best thing to find these shop in these confirmed areas is to keep checking for DEAD ENDS.

And your missing 15th Mission is when you accept the Naura Sister's request to find their little sister in the Rioh Snowfield. If you cleared all 15 quests in Hard Difficulty, you should get the Title, 'World Protector'. The Title reward is 'Compress PA.' You do not wish to sell or trade it because you can only get this once.

JUST ONCE per game card. It has the ability to reduce PA usage time by 33% (Like 1/3).While you are at the Cake or Pizza Shop, you should buy what they sell so you can complete your weapon gallery. It is awkward that you can use food as weapons but they usually collectables. Also, please keep this in mind that you can only play the Bakery Quest ONCE! You can replay the quest again in Hard or Super Difficulty.Enjoy your search. Hvae you got problems trying to take down Humilias in higher difficulty? Well, here's a tip what you should do:-You should equip Ice Protect that nulls frozen status (drops in individual boxes in the last room of Rioh Snowfield)-If you're a Force, you should use Razonde, it works effectively-When it shoots lasers roll dodge between the legs (he'll never hit you if you do)-Stay between his legs if you can stay there long enough until he stay stillThere are disadvantage about fighthing this boss:-When he shoots WHITE lasers and you freeze, he'll knock you out in 2 moves (in result: DEAD)-When he shoots RED lasers and you go slow-mo.

Chances you may live or die (use Anti or Sol Atomizer immediately if you live)-Titles that changes color, wait for the right time to avoid the attackAlso I would recommend not to use PA that takes so long because Humilias moves so much that he will stay still for a few seconds. Unless you got the Compress PA unit equiped.

Have you kept checking your map on the Touch Screen often?

Well, on fields, wherever you go you might be lucky enough to see a teleporter to the arena. What of arena you ask? You know the tough hostiles that roams certain locations? Well, here's what you will need to know. There will be 2 regular tough hostiles and 1 rare tough hostile. You better prepare yourself for that as there are 2 rounds with the same condition. The teleporter to the arena appears occasionally in every middle of locations you picked.

The teleporter will not appear in quests that starts from Halfway to the end. That's rather cheap as SEGA thinks so.

You must do a complete map to make the teleport appear.Gurhacia Valley Arena: This one is a little hard, just dodge when Helions pounce. That goes for the Blaze Helion as well.Rioh Snowfield Arena: First round there will be Hildegaos and Hildegigas. Second round there will be Hildeghana and Hildegigas (again).Ozette Wetlands Arena: Flocks of flying birds are practically harmless if you're not near them.

Just the fat one bothers me so much.;-;Oblivion City Paru Arena: These giant apes are annoying especially with their guns. There's also a naked monkey. PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!!Makara Ruins Arena: Lizards with crystals on their backs. How I hate their annoying attacks.

They delay after they finished, now is your chance!Arca Plant Arena: Trust me on this-If you are on Super, you'll most likely die. This one is the hardest I ever been into.Dark Shrine Arena: I like this one the most, giant arc knights with giant swords! And also a grand smiter that could kill Forces with a critical hit. Read the requirements to enable other Difficulty for Phantasy Star Zero.NOTE: To gain access to Super Mode you must complete all Quests on Hard (including Eternal Tower) in any order you want. Just be sure you have completed each Quest only once.

You should now gain access to Super on your Secondary and Third Character. Unlockable:How to unlock:Hard (Solo)Beat Story ModeHard (Multi)Reach Lv30 on that CharacterSuper (Solo)Beat all quests on Hard including Eternal TowerSuper (Multi)Reach Lv60 on that Character.

Each character will say something on field. As you go, at the start of every combat only one of them will say something. (I'll shut up and categorize their speeches.)Start of the Combat (Weak Hostiles):Kai - Here comes the action!Sarisa - Needs to be confirmedOgi - I could handle this alone.Reve - Weaklings.Start of the Combat (Tough Hostiles):Kai - Stay sharp!Sarisa - Watch out-They're tough!Ogi - Tough hostiles!Reve - At last, a challenge.Getting a Status Condition:Kai - You'll pay for that one.Sarisa - I don't feel too good.Ogi - There's no need to rush to this.Reve - My body felt strange.Near Death:Kai - This isn't over yet!Sarisa - I'm not done yet!Ogi - This is bad.Rever - It's like a bad joke. OR Ngh, this is nothing.Knock-Out (NPC Death):Kai - S-Sorry.Sarisa - I can't fight anymore.Ogi - N.no.Rever - This. Happening!Healing 'HP':Kai - Here, I'll back you up!Sarisa - Try not to do anything crazy!

OR Are you okay?Ogi - Does not talk in this conditionRever - Stop wasting my time!Healing 'Status Condition':Kai - Don't charge ahead alone! There are 6 kinds of Element Protect Units. And each has their own ability to nullify status ailments. There are reasons why you should use these units. Some may be considered as burden.Heat Protect - This unit will keep you from being burned and you never will be burned once you have this on. It's only useful when you are 'severely' burned.

Which can drain your HP 10% over time. That is 5 times worse than being Poisoned. Good thing is, it lasts shorter than being poisoned. If you don't fear being burned, use Anti or Star/Sol Atomizer.Ice Protect - This unit will keep you from being frozen for delay. Freeze Traps can be annoying but so is the boss in Arca Plant, Humilias.

If you somehow unable to beat this boss, this unit is your best bet since this boss will often freeze you and finish off with its sword. This is mostly useful for Force Class with low HP but if you're still annoyed being frozen, then go ahead and use it.

On the side note, when you are frozen, you cannot move at all and you are VERY vulnerable to any attack nearby.Stun Protect - This unit will keep you from being shocked/paralyzed. This unit is really not necessary to use.

Because being paralyzed lasts for like 2 or 3 seconds so don't waste using Anti or Star/Sol Atomizer.Slow Protect - This unit will keep you from being slowed down. Your speed will be cut down to 1/3. You will move very slow when you walk or run, your weapon attack speed is reduced, casting a technique is also reduced.

Some say this is an issue but use Anti to get rid of it. If not, use a Star/Sol Atomizer.Light Protect - This unit will protect you from being confused. When you get this confused status you will run around like mad and not able to hold still.

You can still attack but at random directions. Use Anti or Star/Sol Atomizer.

When confusing hostiles, they will mistakenly attack others with their wide or penetrating attacks.Dark Protect - This unit will keep you from being poisoned. When you do get poisoned, it will drain 2% of your HP over time. It lasts much more longer than being burned but it does get annoying. If you're a CAST race, don't bother using this unit at all. Because they're robotic humanoids, they can't get poisoned.

Use Anti or Star/Sol Atomizer.Credits goes to Aldermar Code:Effect:Heat ProtectNulls BurningIce ProtectNulls being FrozenStun ProtectNulls being ParalyzedSlow ProtectNulls being Slowed DownLight ProtectNulls ConfusionDark ProtectNulls.
