Hi all,Newbie here, never posted anything on a forum anywhere so please forgive if I'm not forum savvy!LOCKED HOUSE: this drove me crazy and I lost 30 minutes of trial play trying to unlock. Suddenly a pop-up announced 'it's time to build a house!' Geez, it's time now? I wanted to build it 25 frustrating minutes ago! I have no idea what triggered it, but I had over 45 units of food, over 25 units of wood, over 25 units of gold & 30 minutes of gameplay left when it annouced I was now able to build. It then stepped me through building it and dropped a bag of tools in a specific place to start building. I have no idea whether the trigger to allow building was resource based or time based.

It never explained the sudden allowance!PEOPLE WON'T EAT AT TABLE: Yeah this was annoying. It was a very specific area of the table that worked for me. Lara croft and the temple of osiris reviews. After about 10 tries I got lucky on the South/East corner of the table. This game does seem to rely on very specific areas of something to work; a much smaller area that works than the actual image itself.I've only just managed to unlock and build the house. I haven't been able to find a walkthough that could help with the above so I hope that helps anyone else who is stuck within 5 minutes of gameplay like me!Tutorial serioulsly lacking on this game; still not sure I'll take the plunge with a purchase based on losing so much time during trial; hard to judge.Edited on at 1:41:59 AM PST. Locked House:The first house is unlocked once you get to 20 or 25 pieces of gold / money (I can't remember which figure).

If a new person arrives around the same time as you reach this quota you will never see the house locked. It seems if you complete your tasks faster you earn more money.I discovered this by struggling with locked house for over 30 minutes (and yes I pressed every little thing!) then suddenly having it unlocked. I restarted with new profile to double check, completed tasks quickly to get gold fast. My new settler appeared around then the game guided me through building shortly after. My house was never locked this way.For those who have had a locked house for a while now I recommend restarting with new profile. I LOVE this game once I got through this and ended up buying it. I'm so glad I did!Edited on at 2:45:37 PM PST. Well I had trouble building a house too but it didn't take me quite as long as some, but I agree.most of what I've accomplished so far has been hit and miss.

Someone earlier commented here that they'd already played through the game and wished they could disable the tutorial. I've yet to even see a tutorial so I wish I had theirs. LolI'm at the point now where I'm supposed to repair the ship - but I need five nails and have no clue how or where to get them. Thanks!MariPS I have game credits and about 22 minutes left on the trial - if I don't find a tutorial or some help I'm not wasting a credit on this game. I like the graphics and it's cute - but not worth the frustration.

I play games for 'fun' and to relax after a long day at work.I don't want to end up ticked off - and this game is borderline so far.Edited on at 5:44:30 PM PST. There is always a way to make money to buy or upgrade things.

Keep chopping wood and/or stones and ship them out for cash. I hesitate shipping iron I need to make nails or tools once I have the forge. You need wood to keep a forge fire burning, but just wait til you shipped some out and build up inventory again.I never ship food or food resources, and only ship other basic resources if I need cash, just have to wait til they rebuild what you need.

And, keep one or 2 in the lab to get points faster. I usually upgrade the lab as soon as I can afford, then points come in much faster. Some of the treasures aren't available to find until you get past the reeds and more open up later.ps I think the only reason to upgrade ship early is to ship more goods at once. But you can ship 2 things at a time until then.Edited on at 2:43:00 PM PST. Looloopy wrote:Please, please get a fix for this game I have tried everything you recommend and have sent a Felix in. To repeat myself yet again, the characters cannot add to the inventory no matter how hard they work, I am an experienced Fishie so this is not a player error. I cannot proceed without completing tasks This is so frustrating, This is such a great game, what a shame! The only reason things shouldn't add to the inventory is if they're being used up-as you probably know. But just in case, starting from the earliest to the latest, let me list the things that use up inventory:Eating (food only, which does NOT include uncooked corn or potatoes)Building (including repairing the ship-at first only wood, stone, and/or nails)Forging (at first only iron ore, later that and wood)Cooking (at first corn and potatoes)If that's not what's going on, I hope by now Customer Support has solved the problem.

Mist12 wrote:Building/repairing the ship 1st timeAfter building the forge there is only 50 coins left. How the heck do you get 250 to fix the ship.I've got all the treasures not just the 5 but 7 of them and there is still only 50 coins?? I've restarted twice now and still have no idea what's going on.The ship is still in dock and broken up!Is this a glitch or have I missed something really obvious?ThanksIf the ship is still in dock and broken up, you have to repair it. This requires only 5 units (kegs? Whatever!) of nails and somebody assigned to do the work. The 250 gold comes later, to upgrade the ship.As stated above, you trade w/ the capital to reach that stage-which requires repairing the ship, leaving it w/ dirty sails and a few breaks in the deck, but definitely not ALL broken up!

Puzzledone wrote:There is always a way to make money to buy or upgrade things.-and s/he's right! However, when you first send off the gold and silver treasure, you use up all or most of the proceeds to bribe your next colonist to arrive.Me, I don't scruple to sell food, once the colony is producing significantly more than it needs! But until then, even if Sebastian our man of business proposes it (as he just happened to do, w/ only 15 Food in stock), no way.Soon afterward: W/ stocks up over 50 and rising, sold some food. Only 2 crowns and 7 gold per unit, but still.Later: Oh, and you make a 100-coin profit from your first antipirate expedition (500 reward minus the 400 you spent on the fort). Plus more if you sell the gold and silver ore you picked up in the process.Edited on at 10:30:25 PM PST.

Bmorgan312 wrote:I am haveing the same problem of locked icon on the first house all I can do is gather food and wood. Is there a number of resources you must have to build a house. I have been playing for over an hour and this is as far as I can get.I've just gone through it again.First you click the check mark on the box that says you're going to have to build a house. (It might work to just click outside that box instead, as w/ most of the game's messages, but I can't confirm that.)Then you're directed to click on the spire icon at the lower right, near the inset map. This takes you to the building menu, and nothing is locked-at any rate, it wasn't for me.And yes, AFTER that you need resources to build the house, as indicated on the display when you hover over the site. Wood and stone, I rather think.

And you should already have enough of each!
